What is ESL?
Learning English as a second language (ESL) is an exciting adventure and an important tool. Find out more about how learning ESL basics and beyond can change your life.
International Experience
Living in an English-speaking country, like the United States, and participating in that country's traditional culture and lifestyles can vastly improve your language skills in a significantly shorter time than studying in your country of origin. Learning English through the experience of living abroad can teach you much more than a textbook can. Get international skills, enjoy the valuable and fun experiences of the host country, and go beyond ESL basics by surrounding yourself with English.
Personal Development
Living in a foreign country is one of the most challenging situations you could find yourself in. Every day you'll need to use your resources and creative problem solving skills to overcome the problems and challenges of daily life. Overcoming these problems can help you discover qualities and confidence you never knew you had. The process of adapting to a foreign lifestyle will teach you more about yourself and help you become more resourceful, thoughtful, and confident in complex situations.
Career Tool
As English continues to grow as a globalized language, the demand for English speakers who can communicate effectively is greatly increasing in many industries. Studying English as a second language in a native country will help you to internalize these communication skills and develop a natural way of speaking. By interacting with native English speakers on a daily basis, you'll gain the communication and interpersonal skills necessary to qualify you for many types of professional positions.
What is ESL Pathway?
ESL Pathway is an international English School based in various cities throughout the United States. We offer English as a Second Language (ESL) programs designed for nonnative speakers from many countries who are at various proficiency levels. Our programs are built around small classes so our international students can receive individual attention from their English teachers. Students not only study grammar and conversation courses, but are also encouraged to participate in local cultural and social activities in their school and community. We believe grammatical study of ESL basics is just one part of learning the English language. True fluency comes from immersion and language acquisition and we provide many outlets for students to comfortably experience a foreign lifestyle.
The primary goal of ESL Pathway programs is to improve the student's level of English. Classes focus on different language skills and are adjusted for student abilities and interests. The core classes include: grammar, reading, listening comprehension, writing, vocabulary, and conversational English. We also provide specialized programs for students wanting to learn business English or Academic English toward a specific goal (TOEIC, TOEFL, etc). All courses are taught in English.
You'll find our teachers at ESL Pathways schools are all TESOL qualified and have significant experience working with foreign students. Passionate and welcoming teachers will provide students with the tools they need to communicate in their community and with other English speakers. We are dedicated to providing a safe gateway into the United States culture and English language studies and providing a high quality educational experience. All schools have a native language support center to offer international students assistance in their home language if necessary.
